How an Accident with Fate Changed my Life

In a nanosecond, conversations from friends advising me earlier that day to “wear a helmet” and that “one day you are going to get hit by a car” flashed before me and I felt myself thinking that the four lanes of traffic racing perpendicular to me could not see me. I was either going to T-bone a car or I had to try to merge with the ongoing traffic and hope for the best...without my helmet, of course. Having had six prior concussions (all involving hospitalization for trauma) and 10 major car collisions, I instinctively knew how to prepare for what was coming. Time seemed to slow… all a part of a near-death experience. My only choice was to surrender and rely on my primitive instincts. I prepared for the impact and turned my blades a sharp right. I could hear the friction burning the rubber off my wheels, their grinding ball bearings and joints smoking across the pavement. All the while I was envisioning my funeral complete with doves flying overhead. Then SMACK! I ran into a car’s tire and down on my back I tumbled. By this time I could see oncoming cars swerving to avoid hitting me. Unfortunately a minivan couldn’t. As I was experiencing what I thought was my last conscious moment, I said to myself, “Well, I guess that’s the end of my career because I will be a vegetable after this wheel splinters my brain.” I turned my hips to the right and miraculously the front passenger’s tire rolled over my left hip with the other side of my body trapped underneath being forced to bear the full weight of the vehicle.

There I was, lying in the road, in shock with adrenaline pumping through every vein of my being. I jumped up in confusion and ran towards the minivan, which had crashed into a lamp-post. Knowing that I was responsible by law for this accident for failure to stop as a pedestrian, I was more concerned for the well-being of the three passengers (a Mom and two infants without seat belts) and their van, which had blood and skin hanging from the tempered glass of its windshield. I heard voices calling on cell phones for an ambulance and yelling out, asking if I was OK. Could they tell by the maniacal look on my face, at my torn jeans covered with blood, bits and pieces of glass coupled with black tire markings embedded in my skin, that it was only an act of God that allowed me to survive such a confrontation?

As I frantically rushed to assist the two infants, I could only think “lawsuit” and how my entire life’s savings would be devoted to paying for their hospital bills. When I got close enough I realized what I thought was human carnage was merely McDonald’s French fries and ketchup, which the passengers had been eating and which, at the moment of impact, had splattered against the windshield. I started laughing uncontrollably from relief. I knew I appeared insane, but deep down I felt blessed to know they were not harmed in any way. So I skated off alone again without any help from anyone.

I knew I needed to get a check-up at a hospital emergency room so I took off blading across the freeway heading towards my nearest friend’s house. Ignoring what had just happened wasn’t logical in the least but I was obviously in shock. I saw my image in the reflection of a Pizza Hut’s glass door and reality hit me. I knew I was given a second chance to live. I felt such peace and joy that I had somehow survived what could have been a fatal accident. Tears began cascading down my face as I realized how close to death I had come. I wondered what gift had been given to me and how I was supposed to use it. I knew there was a reason for my existence and I was ready and willing to surrender to the angels protecting me that day and forever after. But I didn’t survive the accident without some residual damage to my body.

That’s why I dedicate my life to training and rehabbing others. I have suffered osteonecrosis for the last 12 years. I have two herniated discs and severe sciatica in my right leg. I had to use a walking cane for the first eight months to allow my body to reintegrate itself …and all of this without any surgery whatsoever. I know what it is to live in perpetual pain. What you see is not a perfectly, young or agile body. In fact I have learned that I have to exercise for the rest of my life or I will always live in pain.

This website is dedicated to those who are not only fitness enthusiasts, hard-core athletes, or weekend warriors but more importantly to a vast audience of people who are sick and tired of living in pain daily. And to those people who are experiencing negative results from their pain killers and lazy, sedentary lifestyles. My protocol will help you learn how to stave off injuries, especially of the hip back and knees, while enabling you to take charge of your body…thus changing your life. I have learned much from my years of studies and personal knowledge and experiences. If you are willing to try an alternative way of strengthening your lower back while stabilizing your pelvis and thus avoiding pinched nerves, then you’ve come to the right place. Your life will never be the same. Thanks for joining me.

He sufrido osteonecrosis los últimos 12 años.
